The Past

In the Summer of 1999, Club Chairman Mick Wall and Manager Terry Pearce, hatched a cunning plan to form a new football team to compete in the Lowestoft & District Saturday Football League. In only their second season Pot Black stormed to their first league title after cruising to the Division 3 title.

In 2oo1 Pot Black F.C was in turmoil as Manager Terry Pearce was forced into early retirement through ill health, and following crisis talks for management volunteers, 20 year old midfielder Danny McKinley stepped forward and tossed his hat in the ring on a temporary basis.

In Season 2005/06 following 3 seasons of mid-table mediocracy in division 2, had amassed some influencial signings in the summer break with several youngster mixing well with the clubs already established experienced players, added to the return of the prodigal son as Striker Michael Adjaye finished his 4yrs at Uni, to pull on the Tanagerine Shirts of Pot Black. With the Player blend to perfection, the club battled its way to a glorious Division 2 title sealing the victory in their last game of the season against their league rivals.

In season 2006/07 with Pot Black now playing their football were rightfully belonged, but early confidence was dented by a catalogue of serious injuries, most notably to veteran club captain Kev Sherwood whose season finished in December. With their hopes of survival looking bleak, Black found a second wind and regained their championship form with eight games remaining scraping together the points they craved.

The Future

The summer break prior to Season 2007/08 was make or break for many involved in Pot Black Football Club. Results had been disappointing on the field, attitudes and commitment to the cause had been at an all time low, leaving Manager Danny McKinley now in his sixth year in charge deflated, and questioning his drive to continue.

Several players had finished due to family or work commitments, Captain Kev Sherwood and Club Secratary Rob Sterry's serious Knee Injuries looked Terminal and with no new players arriving, the club looked as if the end was near.

Although like all football clubs the mark of greatness is not winning all your games it is bouncing back from defeat, and by jove we've done it!

A late influx of no less than five new players have re-kindled the belief and passion, of the flegling side of '99, who's remenence is small but still present in the form of Danny McKinley and stalwart Ross Jones.

With an up turn on the pitch matching the lift in things off the pitch, the clubs future certainly looks brighter.....
